Last month, I shared about the meaning behind a condition and why it is beneficial to listen. In part 2 of our series, we will focus on why and how to appreciate it. This might be a daunting task for some, especially if you have been dealing with it for a long time. I understand. My diagnosis began when I was 10 years old!
Appreciating the Condition: WHY
Why? It’s a signal from our body. Something is out of balance and our bodies are giving us a clue as to what it is. That alone is a powerful reason to appreciate the condition! My question is this: Why not? What is the downside in it? Is feeling afraid and angry helping to heal?
NOTE: Let’s remember the importance of energy. We are either fueling this condition with positive or negative energy. Positive energy promotes healing and life. Negative energy drains healing and life. Appreciation is a very positive, life-giving tool!
Appreciating the Condition: HOW
Once we realize that appreciating it will help the healing process, we then have to put it into practice. Let’s discuss how we do that:
- Appreciate where it has brought you. The diagnosis has played a part in where I am today. My journey to heal ultimately led to my decision to be a chiropractor. Had I been totally healthy as a child, my life could have potentially taken me in a completely different direction. What has your diagnosis led you to?
- Appreciate what you’re learning through this. The knowledge of holistic healing was brought on by my own desire to heal. An incredible amount of learning has taken place through my personal research to heal. This knowledge and enlightenment continues to help me and my patients. What a gift!
Appreciation for the condition gives you control. This concept is very empowering! Knowing that you are working with this condition as a tool towards healing puts you in the driver’s seat.
Ultimately, we want to look back at our life and know that we experienced enjoyment, empowerment and growth. If you are dealing with a condition, consider working with it to bring about those changes. It has done that in my own life and my desire is that it will do the same for you.
With Appreciation,
